I AM PEACE—Peace March will be a celebration and a stance for Atlanta to advocate for peace. This will be the culmination of the 64 day Season for Peace and Non-Violence; which was inspired by the 50th and 30th memorial anniversaries of Mahatma Gandhi and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. The Spiritual Living Center of Atlanta and other interfaith organizations invite your organization to join us to help lead and promote the march on Saturday, April 5, 2014.
The purpose of The Season for Peace and Non-Violence is to create an awareness of nonviolent principles and practice as a powerful way to heal, transform and empower our lives and communities. Through an educational and community action campaign, we honor those who use nonviolence to build a community that honors the dignity and worth of every human being. We are demonstrating that every person can move the world in the direction of peace through his or her daily nonviolent choice and action.
The event will begin at Freedom Park where you will follow the beat of the drum to join in the opening drum circle. We will march together to the Martin Luther King Peace Pavilion. The march will be approximately 1.5 miles ending with a rally which will include speakers Bishop Carlton Pearson and Rev. Dr. David Ault and music by an Interfaith Multi City Choir.
Peace Be Unto You
