Immersion into the Hierarchy of Values
It’s actually quite simple to determine what’s most important to a person. Look at what they spend their time and money on. Look at what they speak about continuously.
We each have our hierarchy of values. The top items are what we value most because it is where our time, talent and treasure are continuously funneled towards. Also, because every person possesses equal power in using the laws of the Universe to create, each person is successfully keeping those values alive.
For example, if in the hierarchy of values of a single mother is to feed her children then she will do whatever it takes to make that happen. Employed or not, there is little to nothing that will deter her in accomplishing that goal. She is successful as long as that desire remains a priority in her value system. If in the hierarchy of values is the acquiring of designer shoes, same principle. That person will do whatever is required to find a way to get their feet into a new pair of shoes with little regard for consequences. That person is successful as long as shoes remain a part of their personal value system.
So, everyone is successful at keeping their present day value systems fueled and operational. That’s how the law of reciprocity works.
The irony of this awareness is that often we say we want a change in our lives, to cultivate different values, but the desire to implement that change isn’t anywhere close to being listed within our top tiered value items. If we’re not devoted to it, it’s not going to happen.
Two necessary and powerful things that help us strengthen our muscle of devotion and nurture new values is immersion and accountability. When I immerse myself into learning something new, then soon that something new becomes something normal. When I create accountability within this process, then I must answer to someone in order to stay loyal to the new value.
Spiritual Living Institute (SLI) is a remarkable vehicle to help anyone develop immersion and accountability towards creating a conscious hierarchy of values. On-line education with top-of-the-line human development instructors will birth new transformation at depth as long as the individual becomes devoted to the process.
One of the things I love most about my 40 Day Joyful Journey of Mindfulness is the consistent daily plunge one is invited to take in order to prove the principles of mindful creation. I am your accountability partner as we daily immerse our conscious use of mind with best practices that shed light on old patterns. For example, if the mindfulness lesson for the day is All Is In Order, then we must look at our initial feelings around that and devote ourselves to a stretching action that goes beyond our day-to-day way of viewing things. You’ll be called upon to look at anything labeled chaotic and repeat something to the effect of, “I am willing to see the order here. I am willing to see the order here. I am willing to see the order.” Then, in stillness, note any shifts or changes in perception. We’ll offer discussion platforms with students who are doing the same exercise and compare notes on what happened and how we are currently feeling.
With 40 different exercises, we will consciously create a whole new set of values that offer a higher state of being, a resurgence of energy and a renewed sense of love for the world and those around you.
Let’s begin to value you, what you say you desire and bring those values to life!
