It was Ernest Holmes who said, “To the alert, God speaks,” and our Center is a place where we are a Teaching-Healing Ministry that asks each person that attends a Sunday Service, Midweek Service, Class, or workshop to be alert to the Magnificence that lies within each one of us. I have been a congregant for 20 years, a Practitioner for 14 years, and a Minister for 10 years at this Center, each allowing a different level of consciousness to awaken, to become alert, to that which speaks to each of us. I have used this teaching in law school, applied it in my law career, and applied it to my personal life, with each aspect filling itself with the pure potential just by being alert to the possibility. Read my writings in the newsletter, listen to my talks online from speaking over the last few years, attend class on Tuesday nights to see my teaching style… to see how I inspire and educate every individual to become alert to the greatness within. We stand upon great shoulders of Dr Kennedy Shultz, and Rev. Paul Gonyea, who have led us in that endeavor for 31 years. The Center will continue for years to come asking each of us to be alert, to awaken…. to our Truth.

Anyone out there experiencing change? How about challenges? Major personal transitions seem to be accelerating, and even for Religious Scientists it can be difficult to maintain our balance. Change, though universal, can be profoundly challenging.
In Thriving Through Change, a two-hour workshop based on her book Guidance From the Darkness, Rev. Mary will facilitate an opportunity for you to make an experiential and perceptual shift from your customary reactions to change, to powerful responses that can free you to move through these changes with energy, optimism, and vision.
Rev. Mary Murray Shelton is an inspiring speaker, author, and facilitator with a theatre background. Rev. Mary has pastored two large churches: in Santa Rosa and in Huntington Beach, California, and was the Founding Minister and Community Spiritual Leader of Global Heart Center for Spiritual Living in Santa Rosa. She has served on the United Centers for Spiritual Living International Board twice, and served as a Director of the Holmes Institute School of Ministry.
Rev. Mary has been a popular UCSL Asilomar speaker and workshop facilitator over her 20 plus years in the ministry, and she has spoken at conferences in Peru, India and Russia. She facilitates an annual Women’s Circle Retreat each spring for CSL Greater Las Vegas that is open to registrations from other CSL churches. Currently she is working toward a PhD in Psychology.

Throughout his lifetime, Dennis Merritt Jones has been on a quest to inspire and lift people to a higher expression of life. His personal vision is to guide people to their purpose, knowing that when a person is fully awakened to who they authentically are and why they are on the planet, they begin to naturally share their gift with humankind and, in the process, create an enriching life for themselves and the world around them. Dennis believes each one of us has the capacity and, ultimately, the responsibility to contribute something positive to this world, leaving it a better place than it was when we arrived. His teachings promote a contemporary, life-affirming, spiritually logical and positive outlook on life, which are reflected in his writings. He says, “A positive thinker grounded in their spirituality is the most powerful person on the face of the planet.”
Dennis founded the OneSpirit Center for Conscious Living in Simi Valley, CA, in 1985. While the Spiritual Director of OneSpirit and as part of his outreach to assist people in living a more balanced life and rewarding life, he created a TV program entitled “One Power” which was cablecast in the Los Angeles area. Subsequently, he later hosted “Wisdom Teachers”, an internet program where he interviewed contemporary and spiritual luminaries such as Barbara Marx Hubbard, Jonathon Young, Barbara Fields, Lissa Coffey, Mary Manin Morrissey, Walter Starke, Terry Cole-Whittaker, Kusala Bhikshu, John Astin, Mark Vicente, producer of “What The Bleep Do We Know”, and many others.
