Time: Tuesdays from 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m.
Dates: May 15 – June 4
Cost: Love Offering (suggested $25 per class, but no one turned aways for lack of funds)

We will read and discuss Harville Hendrix’s classic book for couples, Getting the Love You Want.  In this 4-week series, we will explore together how to improve ANY relationship, whether it is romantic love, workplace interactions, parent/child or friendships. We will look at his controversial theory that people subconsciously seek relationships with those who will exorcise their childhood pain. Unfortunately, most people tend to reopen – as opposed to healing – these wounds in their adult liaisons, leading to the “power struggle” that ensues in many relationships.

We will share our own views and challenges, in true book club fashion, as we learn together fresh ways to build true, lifelong commitment, treating each other in a loving manner, learning how to communicate constructively and eliminating negativity from our relationships.

Participants will learn

  • Why you are attracted to people who possess the same basic qualities as your parents;
  • How to work with your partner/peer/family member to heal childhood wounds; and
  • How to cultivate a committed, supportive and positive lifelong relationship
