The goal of the SLCA Poet Laureate Contest is to recognize outstanding writers in our community.

Award Winners

Contest winners will receive a winning trophy, be published in our biweekly newsletter, service program and website. In addition, the winning poems will be also be composed as a special song by our music director Penelope Williams and performed live during SLCA Sunday Service.

Submission Guidelines

Poems may be emailed to Penelope Williams (pwilliams@slc-atlanta.org) or typed & mailed or delivered by hand to SLCA Offices: 3107 Clairmont Road, Suite A. Atlanta, Ga. 30329

Please keep an additional copy for your files.

Cost is $20 per entry. Please include payment with your entry/entries.

Must be a member of Spiritual Living Center of Atlanta to enter.

Deadline for submissions is Sunday, August 5.

Acceptable file formats:

PDF (Adobe Acrobat), DOC (Microsoft Word), RTF (Rich Text Format), TXT (Microsoft Wordpad and Notepad, Apple TextEdit.)


Poems will be judged by a panel of independent literary judges. The SLCA Poet Laureate position will last for one year. The winner will be announced on Sunday, August 12, 2018.
